Pain-Free Dental Marketing Team Volunteers with Dwell with Dignity

The Pain-Free Dental Marketing team recently had the opportunity to volunteer for Dwell with Dignity. DwD is a nonprofit that turns houses into homes for families battling homelessness, poverty, and abuse. The organization decorates, furnishes, and fills up these homes with necessities for families to get back on their feet once they complete a social services program.

Our team spent the day at their studio in Dallas, where DwD put us to work. We sanded, stained, primed, and painted furniture. Some of us gathered donated items for the family’s home and purchased gift items for the family on an Amazon Wishlist. We created art for the home as well. One of our team members created digital art that was turned into a poster for the family’s daughter.

We had a blast working together to support a great cause. Even more, it was an amazing bonding experience for our agency.

“It was really fun for the team to work together on projects for the home,” shared Pain-Free’s Hannah Jones. “It’s so cool that DwD has volunteers do the artwork for the home. It means more!”

We all looked forward to the next step: revealing the home to the family.

The Big Reveal

A few weeks later, some of our team members attended Dwell with Dignity’s 200th home renovation to reveal the furnished, decorated home to the family. It was gratifying and humbling to see our projects come to life! An empty house had become a warm and cozy home for the family to thrive and maintain self-sufficiency.

We brought in a meal for the family to enjoy on the first night in their “new” home. And, we gave them a $500 Walmart gift card to help lessen the financial burden of groceries and more essential items.

My favorite part was watching the family react to the home makeover, and seeing all the projects we worked on come to life,” shared Sara Sampson from Pain-Free. “It’s amazing to know we played a part in setting this family up for a brighter future.

The Pain-Free Dental Marketing Care Team

To organize events like this one, we created an internal Care Team made up of some of our employees. The Care Team promotes team culture and encourages company generosity. The team plans and coordinate three types of activities:

  • Purpose-driven events: We partner with charities to generate impact in our communities through team volunteering.
  • Team events: We promote a culture of appreciation, not only for our clients but for each other. Events include our Client Christmas Gift Workshop, Christmas in July, and more.
  • Family events: We create family events ensure we make time together outside of work. These events (Field Day, company trips) build stronger team relationships company culture.

We look forward to our next charity events this holiday season with Operation Christmas Child and Salvation Army Angel Tree.
